I travelled with Jonathan for a few weeks in Venezuela in 1994. We got talking on the plane and then continued a journey through the country visiting Cuidad Bolivar and the Angel Falls. I will never forget the rickety 4-seater plane we used to get to a jungle encampment and the way he calmly photographed the landscape below. 

He was great company - warm hearted, generous and engaging. I was sorry to hear that he had passed away.
