In Tribute

Created by Marcel 3 years ago

In late 2017 a neighbour invited my wife and I to attend an annual fund raiser for a charity, Project Harar.  And it was here that I first met Jonathan or, more correctly, listened to him talking about the charity with his typical sincerity and passion.

As I had a professional 'gap year' I took up the general invitation to attend the annual Complex Surgery Mission in Ethiopia as an observer and really began to learn more about Jonathan and the charity he founded, meeting the other trustees, medics, staff and of course patients.

He went out of his way to spend quality time with me in Addis, expounding on the charity's mission and without me realising started to evaluate how i could be of possible value to the charity

And so it was I was shortly thereafter elected as a Trustee and in 2019 assumed the role of Chairman of the Trustees.

In the short time I knew Jonathan I came to understand his sincerity, humanity and passion, as well as his love of Hip Hop music!

I will always remember you fondly Jonathan, and commit to do my small part in perpetuating the legacy you leave behind.
